I have just returned to Canada after a wonderful trip to Brazil.
My time at the Pousada Aldeia dos Lagos was absolutely everything that I hoped that it would be and more. While I can appreciate that the program and the lodgings are not for everyone, for those who want to avoid tourist traps and experience the beauty and the complexity of the Amazon Basin first hand, Pousada Aldeia dos Lagos certainly fits the bill. In addition, the expert guide, friendly people (staff and residents of the area alike) and the plentiful, tasty food of the area made the “ecotourism adventure” even more enjoyable. I have absolutely no complaints and nothing to suggest to make
such a trip even better!
There were a couple of little hitches. The itinerary that you sent me said that pick-up for departure to Silves was at 2 pm. I found this a little strange so was ready first thing in the morning. And at 7:40 I was paged over the hotel intercom as the driver was waiting for me. So all is well that ends well.
The other was a little more inconvenient. My pick-up at 1:40 am for my flight to Campinas never arrived. I waited until 2:10 and then took a taxi to the airport.
But all in all, what a wonderful experience and thanks to you for making my dream of many years to visit the Amazon all come true.

Dear Luciana, we had a very nice time at Amazon Ecopark. My comments– the room was
very clean and comfortable, nicely decorated, the reception area, bar and all of
the grounds were very well-kept, interesting decor and inviting places to sit
and relax or have a drnk, play chess. For me the food was good, although I love
Amazonian fish and farinha. I heard other guests question the food, probably
more explanation would have helped them– for example a description of what
farinha is.
The activities and excursions with our guide were perfect for my eight year old
nature-loving son. He loved the jacare spotting trip, piranha fishing, and the
hike in the forest. Those were all interesting and appropriate for first-time
visitors to Amazonia.
My only suggestion is`that they provide an itinerary for the guests. We were
dependent on our guideto tell us when the activities would take place. On the
day of the meeting of the waters all day trip I decided not to go, since we’ve
seen it a number of times and it would be a very long day for the baby in a
boat. There was an afternoon trip that day to the Indian village that I didn’t
know about since our guide went to Manaus for the day. We missed out on
something due to lack of information.
Overall, I would recommend Amazon Ecopark to others as a very nice place to stay and a
great introduction to the Amazon. I would also recommend Viverde as the service
was very efficient. Thank you, Kellen

Nossa viagem foi ótima. Tudo que estava previsto saiu conforme combinado. O pessoal do Tropical Business foi bastante atencioso, os transportes funcionaram perfeitamente. A estada no Ariaú também foi um sucesso. Nos buscaram no horário previsto assim como todos os passeios programados.
Deixo como registro apenas que fizemos o retorno do Ariaú para o Hotel Tropical , por nossa conta, passando pelo Encontro das Águas, no período da tarde. Não sei se foi este o problema, entretanto para todos nós foi uma decepção. Pode ser que o passeio que sai de Manaus seja mais interessante!
Como foi a primeira viagem que fiz contratando os serviços via internet, confesso que estava um pouco apreensiva. Como tudo ocorreu conforme o combinado, reservas, preços e passeios, recomendo a todos que forem o Manaus fazerem contato com a ” Amazonas by Viverde”.
Fizemos um passeio ao Museu do Seringueiro. Uma lição de história. Vale a pena!!

Hello Luciana, everything went well. We had a great stay in Silves (Aldeia dos Lagos), but we were a bit desappointed to be so few staying there. The ambiance was very quiet. Maybe we had a bad timing. I think that we have also expect too much of what we can get there during the activities. But I loved to catch caimans, piranhas and to watch birds and monkeys.
The guide -Joshua- was very good and comprehensive with our need as reporters. We also appreciate our guided tour in Manaus and the Saint Paul hotel (the nicest hotel I see in Amazonia). I can send you a pdf copy of our reports when we’ll publish. Your website adress will be in the report so maybe you’ll have more people contacting you from Québec. Thanks again for your collaboration.
