Hi Luciana,
The trip was great. Thanks very much for your help in organizing, especially Luciana.
Comments:
I didn’t have a lot of time in Manaus but I was able to see a little of the city and enjoyed strolling through the neighborhood around the theater, although it was Sunday so most everything was closed.
I enjoyed my three nights at the Tropical Business. It was a good change of pace from the lodgings where I had been staying. I felt like I was at a hotel in the States. It had a pool with a great view, and free internet service.
I was happy with the Acajatuba Lodge for the two nights I spent there. The guide was knowledgeable and the outings were enjoyable. The accommodations, while rustic, were perfectly fine.
However, Mamirauá was by far the highlight of the trip. It was really beautiful there around the lakes and rivers, with lots of wildlife to see, particularly birds, monkeys, and dolphins (as well as some sloths, snakes, spiders, bats, and a few small rodents). The night tour through the flooded forest was something really special. I really loved everything about my stay there, the passeios, the food, and especially the guides, who were friendly and great at spotting creatures, including a uakari monkey, which is hard to see at this time of year. It’s too bad more people don’t go there (I was the only one at the lodge, as three people canceled at the last minute; the people at Mamiraua were happy I booked through you because then they were certain that I would show up).
Once again, thanks for all your help!
Michael

Hi Luciana - We´re still in South America, in Venezuela, and wont be home till November!
Our comments.
Mamirauá was fantastic and we recommend it to anyone. The lodge was comfortable although simple - not for spoilt people! The tours were marvellous and it was interesting to meet the researchers. The food was excellent.
Re the transfer, our aircraft was veery late arriving in Manaus so our transfer had left. I think you know that. Coming back from Mamiraua the transfer was excellent and we hired the car the next day. He was very helpful and a good person.
In Manaus city we enjoyed seeing the Opera House, the port and the market but we didnt find any good restaurants. Perhaps you should make some recommendations to your guests which can be easily reached from the hotel.
The Taj Mahal hotel was OK but not five star European standard, more like three star. However, the staff were all very helpful indeed which we apreciated. We also appreciated the air conditioning!!
Your service was first class. Luciana handled all our worries calmly and efficiently and we would recommend you to anyone (we have already done so). One thing - we were concerned about taking too much luggage to Mamiraua and wanted to leave one bag, which presdented a problem. This was solved by the locker services in the international terminal where we left one big bag for four days. I tell you this in case anyone else has a similar problem.
Many thanks for your help. I may be looking for a partner to build a hotel next to the airport! This would be an excellent facility for many people and we would have welcomed it!!
Thanks again
Gail and Darius

Hi there,
1. Very happy with your service, thank you. All arrangements went smoothly and when making bookings all my e-mail enquiries were answered promptly and accurately
2. Transfers went smooth. Drivers on time and no problems.
3. Tropical Ecoresort hotel very good.
4. Amazonat Lodge: accommodation and service were reasonable but not great. However the daily excursions were absolutely excellent and as they promised on their website offered high level of educational, adventure and amusement value. The guides on these excursions were very good.
Feel free to also look at http://steenkampbrazil06.blogspot.com for a blog of our whole Brazil trip. Note this also contains a link to your website.
